Brittany Mahomes Sends ‘Hater’ Message Amid Donald Trump Post Backlash

Brittany Mahomes has condemned “haters” amid backlash to a post she apparently liked on Instagram by Donald Trump.
“To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,” a post on Brittany Mahomes’s Instagram story read. “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”
It came after followers of the sports team owner, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, allegedly noticed she had liked a post on former President Donald Trump’s account that outlined the Republican Party’s platform for the 2024 election, including deporting “pro-Hamas radicals” and keeping “men out of women’s sports.”
Screenshots and a screen-recorded video indicated she liked the post, but according to a review by Newsweek, her account is not among the 400,000-plus “likes” on the post.
Brittany Mahomes has never publicly expressed her support for any candidate in this election or any other and has never liked any other post from Trump. She also does not follow Trump on Instagram.
Nonetheless, her reported like on the post provoked a flurry of criticism from her followers and fans of Taylor Swift who began following Brittany Mahomes after Swift started dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce last year.
“Brittany Mahomes just outed herself as a Trump supporter,” one person wrote.
“Patrick Mahomes, imagine marrying someone who doesn’t care about your rights and your kid’s rights. Brittany Mahomes agreeing with Project 2025 but married to a black man with mixed kids is insane,” another post read.
Newsweek has contacted Brittany Mahomes via Instagram and the Trump campaign via email for comment.
Her husband Patrick Mahomes previously made headlines in April when he declined to endorse anyone in this year’s election.
“I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain president,” Patrick Mahomes told Time magazine, instead encouraging fans to “use their voice” and do their own research. He advocated for voter turnout in 2020 but did not endorse a candidate.
Meanwhile, Brittany Mahomes has also made headlines in the past for her friendship with Swift.
The pair have been pictured at Chiefs games together and have reportedly been on nights out together along with Selena Gomez and Sophie Turner.
However, as Brittany Mahomes and Swift’s friendship appeared to be blossoming, fans of the multi-Grammy award-winning singer dug up old tweets from when Brittany Mahomes was a teenager where she appeared to bash Swift.
“Taylor Swift … I wanna know when your gonna find something different to write about besides boys and relationships,” one of the tweets read. The tweets have now been deleted.
